City Tree Christian School Reviews

I think my favorite thing about City Tree Christian School is that they are teaching the whole child - from academics to fitness to personal character to spiritual growth. The teachers are totally committed to the children and the staff and administration are caring and supportive. This school is a gem.

City Tree Christian School at First Presbyterian Church in San Diego has provided my children and family an amazingly loving community with excellent academic and character development. My kids were well equipped for High School success!

City Tree Christian School provides a nurturing environment for children. The Christian based curriculum encourages students to love God and serve Him humbly and honorably all the days of their lives; and that this belief is expressed in how they treat others, themselves, and the world. I believe that early Christian education builds character in the student, enables the student to reason Biblically, and celebrates the individuality of each child and encourages excellence in every area- with the purpose of glorifying God- instead of worldly pursuits.

City Tree has the most caring teachers and parents than any other school I've encountered.

I love the teachers and the administration staff. They all make you feel like extended family. I love that the kids learn about Jesus and pray everyday.

City Tree Christian School offers classes for preschool through eighth grade. The teachers, principal and staff are wonderful! Not only are the academics strong, but the music program, the arts, and the after-school options (orchestra, gymnastics, scouts, piano, art, and much more) are top-knotch. From the annual multi-cultural fair to the science fair, the mile fun-runs, and presidential fitness testing, children are challenged to achieve their full potential and discover their creative gifts at City Tree.

This school is great! I love it. The p.e. classes are the best! School fundraisers are very well thought out. Pie a teacher, spirit week, and shadow day!

Kids are well cared for. Lots of parent involvement. Feelslike my kids are growing up around a family- an extended family environment. A new community garden has 'sprung-up' recently, too. Cared for by kids. Each classroom has a few rows to hoe. Check it out!

This is a great school. I went there for a few years ad loved it! Everyone is so mice there including all of the teachers. I was also on the Basketball team and it was great. They have a wonderful curriculum there, and the things that I did there were great. There is a great roof top play ground with a wall and fences around so no one falls off and an excilent after school staff who helps with home work and makes the day even more fun. I think that you parents should definitly send your students here. If they had a high school, i would definitly go! Shout out to Mrs. Sabins and Mrs. Decker!

City Tree has a good, solid foundation; it's starting to take itself more seriously as a school, moving up to 8th grade soon. Some of the teachers are excellent, but others need to be more academically demanding. It has a diverse student population, it has good discipline, and the 'feel' of the school is positive and supportive. The extracurricular is limited but there is basketball, music, dance, cub scouts and girl scouts programs. The principal, Mrs. Kennedy, is excellent, and I see the school expanding and growing in a lot of positive directions. It's greatest weaknesses are the unevenness of the teachers and the lack of good playground facilities. The first will change; the second cannot due to the space limits. Still, it's probably the best private elementary school downtown.

The Christian education is great but the school really needs to work on the degree of academic challenge and class size.

City Tree Christian school is an amazing learning enviornment. My pre-school daughter cannot wait to go every morning. Spanish & Computer lessions start in the pre-school and help give our children the knowledge they will need in their world. The teachers and staff are caring and supportive. They always help the children remember that they are God's creations and are special. They children are taugh how to read and write but also how to know Christ. We will definately be hear though middle school! Hopefully by then they will have a high school.

My child is in the preschool program for the first time and it has been a wonderful experience for her. The teachers there are very patient and caring.

The academic program is strong and the class sizes comporable with most private schools. The school is now starting a middle school program. Our only concern was the lack of a middle school, but since it starts 7th grade in Fall 2006 and 8th in Fall 2007, we only need to look for a high school. The principal is excellent and well organized as well as works with the the parents. This school offer madatory PE, as well as mandatory Science Fair participation, music, Spanish and Chapel. The school requires a mandatory 20 hour parental participation, so the parents tend to work well with the staff and are very active.

City Tree is a wonderful community school. My daughter has attended this school since she was in preschool. The school provides a loving environment with teachers who are committed to teaching so the children learn. Extracurricular activities run the gamut from karate to dance to tumbling, choir, and boys and girls basketball and girls and boys scouts. There is also a weekly youth group for 6th-8th graders. This school is affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church next door--the church supports the school in many ways. High parent involvement in all activities helps create the wonderful sense of community.

Our daughter has had a wonderful first grade Christian education at City Tree school. Not only do they use the academically rigorous BEKA program, but her teacher has taught our daughter many other things, such as writing beautifully in cursive. The teachers have great longevity at the school. They truly show they care by doing things like giving the children reading books for good performance in the class. The associated Presbyterian Church wholeheartedly supports the school, and we have found our involvement with both to be an equal blessing.

My son attending City Tree from pre-K through 6th grade. Overall, the school is excellent for children who are 'middle of the road.' The teachers care, there is wonderful supervision, administration is responsive to concerns. The kids are safe and have a very nurturing environment. There is a great repoir between teachers, administration and parents - parents are extremely involved. There are multiple field trips offered and many social events at the school. If you have a learning disabled or gifted child, the school is not equipped to deal with their needs.

I believe that both of my children are receiving a strong christian education foundation at City Tree Christian School. Each child is encouraged to do their personal best and to strive for excellence. The teachers are warm, loving, and highly skilled. I believe that they try to bring out the very best in each child. The principal is kind and knows each parent and child by name. She is a great example of a leader and I look forward to seeing her every day. Thank you City Tree Christian School for bringing out the best in my children and for giving them the encouragement, confidence and the knowledge they need to succeed.
